Description Miguel de Icaza [MSFT] 2012-04-04 22:03:24 UTC
If you hit Command-F in the assembly browser, some sort of search mode happens, clearing the contents of the buffer (not what is intended).

Then getting out of that is almost impossible:
* Back button does nothing
* Escape does nothing
* TYping text pops up some entry box out of nowhere that gets text, but has no relationship to the view
* I can select the search bar that shows, btut typing there makes no difference.
* Escape there sometimes gets me back to the view.
* Sometimes does not.

What COmmand-F should do:
* IT should start text-search in the buffer.

If I want to search members, or other things, that should be done by the user manually focusing the entry line in the assembly browser and typing the data there.

Not making command-F trigger that, which is confusing and currently gets us in an unusable state.

fixed the behaviour - search text in the buffer is a bit more complex.

The 'widget' is atm part of the source editor - that's another control.
I need to refactor the source / text editor infrastructure for this.

implemented the search box.
