Is it worth adding the UriTypeConverter to the AppLinkEntry.AppLinkUri property, then they can be added to a XAML resource dictionary, and retrieved from C# for calling RegisterLink? It maybe an unlikely scenario, but I figured that someone will try and do it at some point and complain because it doesn't work at the moment (you end up with an empty uri when you retrieve it from the resource dictionary and cast it to an AppLinkEntry).

I dont think so. It's not a supported/intended scenario.
