Description Daniel Cazzulino 2016-05-16 15:42:38 UTC
In order for markdown documents to be readable everywhere, it's pretty common to manually wrap lines.

Moreover, the ability to manually wrap lines without causing unnecessary paragraphs is a feature especially
called out in the "spec" at https://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax#p.

In Workbooks, however, a new line causes a new paragraph, making it very hard to have a text document that
users can read and edit easily in a browser (i.e. in GitHub's awesome text/markdown editor for sending PRs
straight from the web).

If we're going to call this thing "an enhanced/flavor of Markdown", I think this is a blocker ;)

Link to the right spec on paragraphs: http://spec.commonmark.org/0.24/#paragraphs

This isn't an issue with the CommonMark spec itself, rather with ProseMirror. We're updating the release of ProseMirror we're using with Workbooks for our next release. I'll test to see if it addresses this issue.
