Can't install over a newer MFA.
If this is the expected behavior, then the bug would be that the updater does not indicate this issue.
Either the downgrade works through MD or I am warned about uninstalling before I see the error message.

This is a bug in the MfA package, it explicitly checks to prevent downgrades.
I think not being able to downgrade is expected behavior on Windows.
Fixed for 4.2.
Reopening, as this change was reverted:
When downgrading, this causes both version to exist in Add/Remove Programs, and produces a potentially broken install.
Zane and I changed how MajorUpgrade works. We need to test this again.
Verified fixed in MFA 4.2.0 RC5
Mandroid + MSBuild\Novell dir
4.3.0 installed on machine with no MFA: http://screencast.com/t/QPXkz1uo
4.2.0 installed over that: http://screencast.com/t/dBpKR8S2
Note: this problem will persist for downgrades from 4.2.x to 4.0.6 as the code that prevents the downgrade is in the 4.0.6 msi.
4.2.0 will be the first stable release that can be downgraded *to*. The next release will be the first one that can be downgraded *from*.
