Visual studio warning message

Keep getting `Warning	IDE0006	Error encountered while loading the project. Some project features, such as full solution analysis for the failed project and projects that depend on it, have been disabled`

I can ignore this warning and the project deploy successfully... but it is causing R# to cease functioning... all my usual shortcut key etc won't work.

The attached logs contain the following error:

C:\Users\Rosdi\.nuget\packages\Xamarin.Forms\2.0.0.6482\build\portable-win+net45+wp80+win81+wpa81+MonoAndroid10+MonoTouch10+Xamarin.iOS10\Xamarin.Forms.targets(62,3): error MSB4018: The "XamlCTask" task failed unexpectedly.
    C:\Users\Rosdi\.nuget\packages\Xamarin.Forms\2.0.0.6482\build\portable-win+net45+wp80+win81+wpa81+MonoAndroid10+MonoTouch10+Xamarin.iOS10\Xamarin.Forms.targets(62,3): error MSB4018: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'C:\Projects\XamarinTutorial\FormXaml\FormXaml\FormXaml.UWP\obj\x86\Debug\FormXaml.UWP.exe'.

Which seem to indicate that your FormsXaml.UWP project didn't build successfully. Also, the error shows that it happens when running XamlCTask in a XF 2.0 app. Maybe you could try the latest & greatest v2.2-pre of XF which also fixes intellisense errors in VS?
Comment 5 Daniel Cazzulino 2016-05-09 17:24:26 UTC
Please reopen if the error still happens with the latest 2.2 bits.

Thanks!

A team member has been able to replicate this with the version information found in https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=42909 as well as with Xamarin.Forms 2.3.1.

Reopening this bug.
Comment 7 Mikey 2016-10-06 23:51:06 UTC
This definitely still happens in the latest version with a new blank project. -- Don't know what that version is, but when you hit "check now" in Visual Studio, it says it's up to date.

## Note to the Xamarin team

I suspect that the key remaining scenarios for the 2 warnings shown in Comment 1 are covered by the following 2 bugs:

- Non-public Bug 47846 (resolved): Until XamarinVS Cycle 8 Service Release 2 the UWP app project template was using an older version of the Xamarin.Forms NuGet package as compared to the app projects for Xamarin.Android and Xamarin.iOS. According to the latest testing on Bug 47846, all of the app project templates in Cycle 8 SR 2 are now using an up-to-date version of Xamarin.Forms.

- Bug 50914 (open): "Unlike other C# project types, Xamarin.Android projects show warning ... "Some project features ... have been disabled" and lack some IntelliSense features unless all referenced dependencies have been built".

## Next steps

Next week I will double-check the behavior of UWP projects as compared to the other app projects. If the results are as expected, I will mark this as a duplicate of non-public Bug 47846 for bookkeeping.
Comment 9 Brendan Zagaeski (Xamarin Team, assistant) 2017-01-12 20:06:33 UTC
I have now had a chance to complete the quick check of the templates as mentioned in Comment 8. The results were as expected: as of Cycle 8 Service Release 2, the Xamarin.Forms version in the UWP project now matches the version in the other projects.

I will accordingly mark this bug as a duplicate of non-public Bug 47846 for bookkeeping.

If any user sees similar unexpected warnings or ReSharper issues in the future that (a) cannot be resolved by updating the Xamarin.Forms version and (b) are unrelated to Android Bug 50914, please file a new bug report that includes as many details [1] as possible. Thanks in advance!

## Steps tested

1. Create a new "Visual C# > Cross-Platform > Blank Xaml App (Xamarin.Forms Portable)"

2. Pick "Windows 10 (10.0; Build 10240)" for both the "Target Version" and "Minimum Version" of the UWP project to ensure that the "Microsoft.NETCore.UniversalWindowsPlatform" NuGet package will install as expected.

## GOOD Results (with XamarinVS 4.2.2.6 (27a9b40) "Cycle 8 Service Release 2" December 22, 2016)

The UWP project, the Xamarin.Android project, and the Xamarin.iOS project all reference Xamarin.Forms 2.3.3.175. (The Windows and WinPhone projects also reference 2.3.3.175.)

## "BAD" Results (with XamarinVS 4.2.1.64 (872717c) "Cycle 8 Service Release 1" November 16, 2016)

The UWP project references Xamarin.Forms 2.0.0.6482. In contrast, the Xamarin.iOS and Xamarin.Android projects reference Xamarin.Forms 2.2.0.45. (The Windows and WinPhone projects also reference 2.2.0.45.)
