Description of Problem:
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Run a project with IOS Simulated Background Fetch Debugger
2. Click menu option to Simulate IOS Background Fetch
Background fetch not supported yet when using Xcode 7 message appear in the Application Output window. PerformFetch method of AppDelegate is not triggered.
PerformFetch method of AppDelegate should be triggered after click in Simulate IOS Background Fetch option of Run menu.
How often does this happen?
Each time we do a click in Simulate IOS Background Fetch option of Run menu
It was working well during trial test of Professional Edition
Pretty sure that error message is coming from the app running in the simulator and not Xamarin Studio, so this is probably the Xamarin.iOS runtime.
This should be fixed since 9.4.1 (C6 SR1) and never was related to a specific minimal license (every edition had it).
Please provide what versions* of the tools you're presently using.
* The easiest way to get exact version information is to use the "Xamarin Studio" menu, "About Xamarin Studio" item, "Show Details" button and copy/paste the version informations (you can use the "Copy Information" button).
I was using the last community release version that can be downloaded from Xamarin site 10.5.3 and Background Fetch was not working in the simulator. Then I decided to upgrade to version 6.0 Build 4968 and the problem was solved and the Background fetch started to work in the simulator. Next I did the deploy to my device but for some unknown reason Background fetch is not triggered after several hours of waiting.

Simulating background fetch is not supported on device, only in the simulator (which according to comment #3 is working), so I'm closing this bug.
Background fetch events on device are received as Apple sends them, so we don't have any control there.
