Attempting to use an iOS 7 device for debugging will fail due to the device being unavailable in either Xamarin Studio on Mac or Visual Studio. These conditions exist despite the device being recognizable and deployable in Xcode, and despite the target version being set appropriately
# Steps to Reproduce
1. Create iOS Single View App
2. Set target to iOS 7
3. Attach iOS 7 device
4. Attempt to deploy to attached iOS 7 Device
# Expected Results
Deploying to attached device should succeed without any issue
# Actual Results
The device can not be deployed to as it is not available

The fact it happens on both XS and VS means it's likely an issue with shared code (likely maciostools), but I'm surprised it happens with 9.4.x (and not just C7).
@Rolf could that be related to https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=39609 ?
No, it's not directly related to bug #39609 (mtouch does not share any code with XS/VS in this area).
However this has already been reported for XS as bug #39508, so I'm moving this to the VS product.
I can replicate this behavior locally, so I will confirm the bug.
## Regression status: regression in "Cycle 6 – Service Release 2"
> BAD: XamarinVS 18.104.22.168 (a78562a) + Xamarin.iOS 22.214.171.124 (fa3b68c) + Xcode 7.2
> BAD: XamarinVS 126.96.36.199 (f869dba) + Xamarin.iOS 188.8.131.52 (58ba2bc) + Xcode 7.2
> GOOD: XamarinVS 184.108.40.206 (dcea9c1) + Xamarin.iOS 220.127.116.11 (962a050) + Xcode 7.2
## Additional testing environment info (brief)
### Devices tested
iPhone 4, iOS 7.1
### OS X 10.10.5
Mono 4.4.0 (f8474c4) (64-bit)
### Windows 10 (64-bit)
Visual Studio Professional 2013, Update 5
I've got a fix for this in maciostools, but the VS team will need to update whatever it is they need to in order to get that fix.
My fix is on the cycle6-bug39508 branch. It's also on cycle6-c6sr2.
I am also able to reproduce this issue with XVS 18.104.22.168 + X.iOS 22.214.171.124 + Xcode 7.2. However this issue doesn't exits with XVS 126.96.36.199(1cc3a99), iOS 7 device is displaying in VS.
Hence closing this issue.
