RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 2775

Description Eric Beisecker 2012-03-09 14:42:32 UTC
The default Format for DateTime.ToString() produces characters that are not for the current Location and (from what I've been told) don't mean anything at all.

Example.

var now = DateTime.Now.ToString();
Output: "䏭/䏭/즐G退䏭 䏭:退䏭:退䏭 PM"

Expected:
Something like "3/9/2012 2:24:00 PM"

Versions:
Mono for Android: 4.0.5.196261537
Mono 2.10.9

(Also Happens in VS2010 with .NET Framework 4.0)

How are you viewing the date? We've seen this when viewing tooltips or such in the debugger. However, it's just a debugger display issue and the actual value is fine if you use it in your app.

If it's just in the debugger, it's a dupe of 2775, which is fixed for 4.2.

It does look like it's only the debugger. When I print the DateTime to a TextView it appears fine.
