RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 37037

Description Alan McGovern 2016-01-06 16:04:17 UTC
I was working on a simple application over the holidays and I hit an issue deploying to my device.

The problem is that repeatedly building and deploying my app to the device resulted in the app breaking. The typical issue was that when i built and deployed twice or more, the app would crash on startup claiming that Main.storyboard could not be found. My workaround to fix the issue, after much trial and error, was the following:

1) 'git clean -xffd' my app
2) Delete the app from my phone
3) Hit "build and run on device" in xamarin studio

If i then made a change and hit 'build and run' without doing 1 and 2 the app would crash on startup with the storyboard issue. This happened on an iPhone 6 with the current stable iOS version. I was also using xcode 7.2 and mtouch 9.5.0.35 (master: 500b834).

Next time it happens can you attach (post somewhere) a complete* archive of both a working and non-working project.

* all files (temp bin/ and obj/ too)

That should make it clear if it's a copy or a build caching issue.

I can't repro it anymore. I'll keep poking around and see if i can figure out what the problem was.

Gouri is now hitting this issue.
