Description Atsushi Eno 2015-12-16 04:54:47 UTC
Every time I launch VS2015 and open some sample from Xamarin Forms sample (for example, MyShop), Xamarin Mac Agent shows up and tells me that there is no connected Mac. I don't need Mac connection at all. so it is super annoying that it shows up every time. It should be made ignorable.

To make things worse, "Xamarin Mac Agent Instructions" dialog has a checkbox that says "Don't show this again". It just looks like whatever I indicated is ignored. (The Instructions dialog itself doesn't show up again, as expected. The Agent window remains wrong.)

The "Don't show this again" clearly refers to the instructions pane, not the XMA connection dialog.

We should evaluate under which circumstances we want XMA to connect automatically and when we don't want because it's not necessary and causes overhead.

For example, we could decide to not connect to XMA when the initial startup project is not iOS. But the what can happen is that the user switches to iOS, he forgets to connect manually, so he will be working offline.

Assigning this to the team to analyse for Cycle 9.

This issue has been fixed for the next 15.3 refresh. Now the prompt will not appear if an automatic connection can't be performed; according to the new spec.
