Description Adam 2015-12-15 05:26:36 UTC
OnAppearing() is not called on the Child tab page in a TabbedPage in Windows Phone when the current page is changed.

Or put another way when the current tab is brought into view. However on Android it is. Every tab change leads to an OnAppearing() event raised for the ContentPage (Tab) that came into view on Android but not on Windows Phone. (WP8)

At the moment I just work around by raising it myself as I am currently just relaying the events to the ViewModel anway, hence I just do this

        protected override void OnCurrentPageChanged()
        {
            base.OnCurrentPageChanged();

            if (Device.OS == TargetPlatform.WinPhone)
                if (this.CurrentPage?.BindingContext != null)
                    ((BaseViewModel)this.CurrentPage.BindingContext).OnAppearing();

        }

This is just to gain some consistency between platforms.

This should be fixed in 2.1.0-pre1 on WindowsPhone 8.1 or UWP
