Description Aaron Bockover [MSFT] 2015-11-27 21:01:57 UTC
BAD:

aaron@bacon conservatorio/Sparkle 👉 /Library/Frameworks/Xamarin.Mac.framework/Commands/bmac
Unhandled Exception:
System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'BindingTouch' threw an exception. ---> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly or one of its dependencies.
File name: 'XamMac, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=84e04ff9cfb79065'
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---
[ERROR] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'BindingTouch' threw an exception. ---> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly or one of its dependencies.
File name: 'XamMac, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=84e04ff9cfb79065'

However (GOOD):

aaron@bacon conservatorio/Sparkle 👉 /Library/Frameworks/Xamarin.Mac.framework/Versions/Current/bin/bmac
Error: no api file provided
bmac - Mono Objective-C API binder

Expectation: identical behavior
Comment 1 Chris Hamons 2015-11-30 17:08:26 UTC
The script appears to assume (incorrectly) that you ($0) are in "/Library/Frameworks/Xamarin.Mac.framework/Versions/Current/bin"

We need to be less-stupid.

Fixed in master / 706397dd454281610480c12547bb75ebec0e9afe.

Apparently nobody ever tried to run it from Commands. This never worked.

I have checked this issue with the cycle 7 build:
xamarin.mac-2.8.0.319_7b89851d12f14d423e603ffd5f2e2b9557faed89

I observed that this issue no longer exist with this build. Now on running following command: /Library/Frameworks/Xamarin.Mac.framework/Commands/bmac

I am not getting any exception.

Screencast: http://screencast.com/t/uefroHNAJ

This issue has been fixed , hence I am closing this issue.

Thanks..!
