RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 3468

Description lindsey.driscoll 2012-02-22 15:23:45 UTC
When attempting to use the "as" keyword, auto-complete does not display this option when being used in the correct context

Steps to Reproduce:

1. In a method type the letter 'a'
- You should see the auto completion window show the "as" keyword
2. Now type in the following lines of code:

object obj = "this is a string";
string s = obj a

Expected Result:

Auto-complete should show the as keyword

Actual Result:

Auto-complete does not show anything:

Note: If you type in the following code:

object obj = "this is a string";
string s = (obj a //note the parentheses before obj

Auto-complete does show the "as" keyword

Environment:

Macosx: SnowLeopard
MonoDevelop: 2.8.8.0 RC2
Mono: 2.10.8

The parser we use has atm a problem with incomplete local variable declarations.

However the 2.8.x line will remain broken in that context because a parser update would cause too many side effects. We'll release the new completion engine soon.
