RESOLVED FIXED

Description Tittu Aliyas 2015-11-04 05:49:16 UTC
Overview:
In iOS Xamarin Studio, the Xamarin profiler should be started from the Run (Xamarin Studio->Run->Start Profiling) first but no result will be displayed. It will also give a warning of Boehm garbage collector. After that if we launch the profiler from Tools (Xamarin Studio->Tools->Launch Profiler) then it get the results.
In IOS Xamarin Studio, if we launch the profiler directly from the tools (Xamarin Studio->Tools->Launch Profiler) without doing the above step then it will have the old run instance and will try to run the same whereas in windows Visual studio, we can directly launch the xamarin profiler (Visual Studio->Analyze->Xamarin Profiler)
Versions:
Xamarin Studio 5.9.1 (build 3)
Xamarin Profiler 0.24.0.0
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Make sure the device is connected with the Mac and Xamarin studio detected the device.
2.Launch the profiler from Tools->Launch Profiler
Actual Result:
No result will be displayed in the Xamarin profiler or it will have old run instance.

Launch profiler menu is gone in XS 5.10, to avoid this kind of confusion. It will be different though in VS/XS, as they are 2 different applications, so the profiler integration is not exactly the same. But yes, having 2 menu items on XS was confusing, so this is fixed now in XS 5.10
