No sound heard on XAP for every Android Image.
tested on ver 0.4.4 , 0.5.5 , 0.5.6

my pc system info
How are you testing the sound in the devices? I cannot replicate this and have tried all the listed versions of XAP on various computers running Windows 8.1.
have you tried with gigabyte bord, Z97X-Gaming GT ?
(Realtek audio driver)
We do not have a machine with that exact motherboard Zahi, but if it comes to that we might be able to get one to reproduce.
I am not sure we've exhausted other avenues of investigation yet though - can you tell us which sound you're trying to hear, and/or provide us the source code for the project that should be making sound and it isn't?
Can you confirm that the same app is producing sound correctly through the Android emulators from Google, and/or on a physical device?
Build the project GoneBananas of Cocossharp examples .
it's playing sound on background and on catching bananas .
It's working on real device android . not on XAP.
Didn't check it on android emulators
Are there any settings I can change on XAP?
or in VBox?

I was able to reproduce this using XAP 0.5.6 on Windows 10, using the MediaBrowserService sample:
I was able to reproduce with the Nexus 5 Lollipop (api 22) image, and the same sample successfully played back audio on a physical Nexus 7 and an API 22 x86 Google Emulator.
Marking as confirmed as per Comment #8
I didn't see some of the previous updates before my initial investigation. After looking at this further, it seems I was able to reproduce the known issue with running XAP with VB5 on Win10. On that environment, system sounds and audio playback attempts were not working.
I was unable to reproduce any Audio issues on a Windows 8.1 box however, using XAP 0.5.6 with both Virtual Box 4 and 5.
Can you confirm which versions of VirtualBox you were using, VirtualBox 5 is having updates quite frequently and we've seen an issue with sound with earlier versions that have been fixed by newer versions.
With reproduction in comment #8, do system sounds work?

Can you confirm the audio hardware in the host system.

This is what I saw as well, the bug was reported against Win8.1 and I've not been able to reproduce the issue on that OS. I wanted to be able to test it with Realtek audio hardware to see if that config difference was causing the issue.
On the Windows 10 environment I have the following:
> AsRock Z77 Extreme4 w/ Realtek Digital Output (HD Audio)
The windows 8.1 machine was an Intel NUC which appears to be using Intel HD Audio.
just wanted to inform on new discovery.
i used to activate XAP via elevated mode (with administrator rights).
i tried to activate now XAP on regular mode and I HEAR SOUND.
so the bug is minor here , but still , why not in elevated mode?
There is no need to run XAP elevated, doing so can cause weird permissions issues due to multi-user installs.
I'm going to downgrade, and retitle this bug.
Running XAP as Administrator is not something that is supported, nor is support for this running mode on the roadmap.
