System.Diagnostics.Tracing is available in MonoAndroid10, but is missing from Xamarin.iOS
And the new Microsoft nuget shipping this lib requires nuget 3 which is not available for vs 2013 at this time.
System.Diagnostics.Tracing is required by the TPL DataFlow nuget when the project is run.
- create an ios project
- add the TPL Dataflow nuget
- in AppDelegate, create a simple dataflow and post a message to it
var actionBlock = new ActionBlock<int>(n => Debug.WriteLine(n));
for (var i=0; i<10; i++)
- run the project on the ios simulator
It will compile ok, but fail with a missingmethodexception when run.
If you manually add System.Diagnostics.Tracing found in the "reference assemblies" folder, it will work ok.
Xamarin.iOS uses same mscorlib API as Xamarin.Android. You are probably running older version of Xamarin.iOS than Xamarin.Android.
Including actual missing type would help too.
System.Diagnostics.Tracing is a facade assembly. I am not sure why registrar needs it when it's not copied.
