Logs (e.g. build logs, error logs) should not be localized. This means that users can more easily share the logs, search for errors, etc. Also, we can expect our users as programmers have at least some understanding of English, and at best the logs are only partially localized at the moment.

This is nontrivial to fix because of the places where progress monitor task names are written both to the status bar and to a log.

Thanks so much for taking the time to submit this report! I can confirm using the latest Visual Studio 2017 for Mac Preview version 7.1 I am able to reproduce this issue. Marking this report as CONFIRMED. 


Looking at the build logs, I can see that certain strings are localized:
