Description Paul DiPietro [MSFT] 2015-07-15 13:42:06 UTC
There is presently a bug in Forms with MasterDetailPage that, when using Android, does not dismiss an active keyboard when setting a new Detail on a MasterDetailPage. It functions as expected in iOS (WP not tested).

The bug can be reproduced as follows in App.cs:

var master = new MasterDetailPage {
	Master = new ContentPage {
		Content = new StackLayout {
			VerticalOptions = LayoutOptions.Center,
			Children = {
				new Label {
					XAlign = TextAlignment.Center,
					Text = "Welcome to Xamarin Forms!"
				}
			}
		},
		Title = "Master 1"
	}
};

var entry = new SearchBar ();
var page = new ContentPage { Content = entry };
page.ToolbarItems.Add (new ToolbarItem () { Text = "home", Command = new Command (() => {
		master.Detail = new NavigationPage (new ContentPage ());
	})
});
page.ToolbarItems.Add (new ToolbarItem () { Text = "focus", Command = new Command (() => {
		entry.Focus ();
	})
});

master.Detail =
	new NavigationPage (
	page
);

MainPage = master;

Should be fixed in 1.5.0-pre1

I have checked this issue with X.F 1.5.0-pre1 and I am unable to reproduce this issue with X.F 1.5.0-pre1.

Hence closing this issue.

If you getting same issue please feel free to reopen this issue.
