RESOLVED FIXED

Description Ondra Pelech 2015-07-06 08:27:23 UTC
I'm a beginning F# programmer on Fedora 20.
I installed both Mono and F# from the http://download.mono-project.com/repo/centos/ repository.
But I have problems building F# projects:

https://github.com/fsprojects/ProjectScaffold/issues/189#issuecomment-118834646

the problem seems to be that the F# rpm packages do not contain the proper files at the proper places (the file in question be Microsoft.FSharp.Targets)
there should be

/usr/lib/mono/xbuild/Microsoft/VisualStudio/v/FSharp/Microsoft.FSharp.Targets

but there is only

/usr/lib/mono/4.5/Microsoft.FSharp.Targets
/usr/lib/mono/Microsoft F#/v4.0/Microsoft.FSharp.Targets
/usr/lib/mono/Microsoft F#/v4.5/Microsoft.FSharp.Targets
/usr/lib/mono/Microsoft SDKs/F#/3.0/Framework/v4.0/Microsoft.FSharp.Targets
/usr/lib/mono/Microsoft SDKs/F#/3.0/Framework/v4.5/Microsoft.FSharp.Targets
/usr/lib/mono/Microsoft SDKs/F#/3.1/Framework/v4.0/Microsoft.FSharp.Targets
/usr/lib/mono/Microsoft SDKs/F#/3.1/Framework/v4.5/Microsoft.FSharp.Targets

which doesn't seem to be enough, and the build fails with something like:

  1) Building /Users/adronhall/Coderz/ProjectScaffold/sharpKataStringCalculator.sln failed with exitcode 1.
  2) : /Users/adronhall/Coderz/ProjectScaffold/src/sharpKataStringCalculator/sharpKataStringCalculator.fsproj(0,0): Target named 'Rebuild' not found in the project.
  3) : /Users/adronhall/Coderz/ProjectScaffold/tests/sharpKataStringCalculator.Tests/sharpKataStringCalculator.Tests.fsproj(0,0): /Users/adronhall/Coderz/ProjectScaffold/tests/sharpKataStringCalculator.Tests/sharpKataStringCalculator.Tests.fsproj: The required attribute "Project" in Import is empty

(there's quick'n'dirty hack to work around this issue, described in the GitHub issue comments)
