RESOLVED FIXED

Description Alexis Christoforides 2015-06-08 16:11:49 UTC
A fix for local builds of the Mono Mac package resulted in the cache directory being baked in the configuration file for fontconfig in Mono 4.0.

etc/fonts/fonts.conf in 3.12: ~/Library/Caches/com.xamarin.fontconfig
etc/fonts/fonts.conf in 4.0: /Users/builder/Library/Caches/com.xamarin.fontconfig

This breaks sandboxed apps, as reported here: http://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/42593/how-to-work-around-absolute-fontconfig-path-in-mono-4-that-breaks-sandboxed-apps

A fix was created and I will try to include it in SR3. The fix also runs 'fc-cache' at install-time which should properly take care of the multi-second delay at the first run of a GUI app.
