Sorry for the frustrating issue.

Unfortunately, I am unable to reproduce the exact issue you see. I was upgrading from 4.0.0 to 4.0.3 and from 2.8.5 to 2.8.6.3.

The installer did hang if I had a message box open in Monodevelop (in my case, Version Info), but once I closed Version Info and hit 'Retry', the update completed as normal. Without the Version Info open, the updater ran from start to finish with no hitch (for me).

If you have any more information for reproduction, that would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to nail this down!

This has been fixed on the update server.

*** Bug 3186 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 6 Mikayla Hutchinson [MSFT] 2012-02-01 20:55:15 UTC
This doesn't look like a server-side issue, and has been reported again.
Comment 7 Lluis Sanchez 2012-02-07 12:37:25 UTC
Robespierre, which operating system version are you using?
