Description Russell Fustino 2015-05-05 02:18:13 UTC
I had to rollback the latest version of Xamarin, 3.11.445.0, as it was causing the Visual Studio environment to freeze consistently when attempting to debug for both Android and iOS. 3.9.547 works fine. Rolling back Xamarin Forms did nothing so it must have been Xamarin. I am running current version of XF 1.4.2.6359. Also had to roll back the build host on the mac.

I'm having the same issue. I run my project and after few seconds VS 2013 freeze. There are no errors in app output, no exceptions are thrown.

Setting "Linking: None" seems to solve the problem for me
Comment 3 Francesco Colombo 2015-05-05 05:53:07 UTC
The freez still appears when reaching a thread sleep. For eg. in my code I added a System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(10000); in a separated thread and when reaching that line suddenly VS freeze like before!
Comment 4 Francesco Colombo 2015-05-06 06:42:46 UTC
Ok the only solution that worked is to downgrade to 3.9.547
Comment 5 Russell Fustino 2015-05-06 10:22:19 UTC
That's what I found too. I tried all the linking options and it still froze for me. I am running VS 2013 Update 4. I tried the Update 5 RC as well.

Hi Russel,

We are successfully able to run android and iOS application with VS . Could you please confirm that you are still getting this issue with latest stable Xamarin 3.11.666? If yes, then please provide your VS ide logs via VS->Help->Xamarin->Zip Xamarin logs.

Thanks!

Hi,

As we added several improvements since the bug was reported, I'm marking it as tentatively resolved.
If you're still hitting the same issue with latest stable bits, please reopen the issue with environment information and logs.

Thanks
