Description Jon Goldberger [MSFT] 2015-04-16 18:16:34 UTC
## Description

Placing a line breakpoint in a PCL project after moving a solution from XS (Mac) to Visual Studio or XS (Windows) (will file separate bug report for XS(Windows) if need be).

## Steps to reproduce

1. Open the test project linked in the private comment below in Visual Studio

2. place line breakpoints in MainPage constructor

3. Deploy the Android project to a simulator or device in Debug configuration. (Need to set the Android app to deploy in the configuration manager)

Expected Result: Line breakpoint will be hit.

Actual Result: Line breakpoint is not hit, though code is executed.

4. Rebuild solution and redeploy Android app.

Expected result: Line breakpoint will be hit.

Actual result: Line breakpoint is not hit, though code is executed.

5. Rebuild solution again and redeploy app.

Expected result: Line breakpoint will be hit.

Actual result: As expected.

## Notes

To further test, after you get the line breakpoints to work move the solution to a Mac and open in Xamarin Studio. The line breakpoints will not be carried over due to differences in where Line Breakpoints are stored between the IDEs (in SolutionName.userprefs for XS, and in the SolutionName.suo file in VS). So set a new breakpoint and let it be hit. then move the solution back to Windows and open up in Visual Studio and repeat the steps to reproduce, i.e. place new breakpoints and you should see that once again they are not being hit until a full solution rebuild is done 2 times.

Also note that the test project is a Forms project. I have not verified this with a non-Forms project, however I don't think that should matter but thought it worth mentioning.

I have checked this issue and unable to reproduce the above behavior given in the bug description.I set the breakpoint in attached sample and deploy on XAP, it hits the breakpoint.I also open this sample on Mac XS and deploy on XAP after that same sample open in XVS but breakpoint hit everytime.

Please Let me know if I missed any step to reproduce this issue.

Breakpoints are not expected to carry over, unless VSfMac implements suo, which I don't think is in roadmap for them either. Closing as not in roadmap.
