Test project to repro the bug

Hi

When having buttons (maybe other control too) in a syacklayout, and toggling IsVisible on the button, the layout fail : most of the time (but not always) when toggling IsVisible from false to true, the controls inside de stacklayout are not redrawn.

Partial Workaround is to play with opacity =0, but when setting opacity =0 the control is style there rooms it taks is not freed, which is annoying.

Fail on iOS, did not tryed on Android or Win8

Attached a test project :
Click on the Record :
 Record button should deseppears
Stop and Pause button should appear

Click on stop :
  Record button should appear
Stop and Pause button should deseppear

I see the same behavior. It is not allways. Sometimes works all perfect, but than I get it again. Would say 1 of 8 tries, perhaps more often.

And I don't see this on Android. It is a iOS only problem, but not tested on WinPhone.

An Update to this issue:

Xamarin.Forms: Version 1.4.3.6358-pre2
Comment 5 dtaylorus 2015-05-12 19:39:25 UTC
Found a workaround. For child controls of StackLayout, set HeightRequest = 0 instead of IsVisible = false, and HeightRequest = -1 instead of IsVisible = true. Tested with StackLayouts nested inside a top-level StackLayout.
Comment 6 diexee 2015-05-28 20:50:46 UTC
I could reproduce it too. Changing the IsVisible property of the view is not always hiding/showing.
Happened when binding the IsVisible to a property and changing it on the view model (raising property changed).
Comment 7 diexee 2015-05-28 20:52:35 UTC
I Forgot to add that happens with StackLayout and Entry too.
Comment 8 glucose1e 2015-06-07 22:08:05 UTC
Same problem in IOS, not always happen but definitely happen in few times.
Android works fine.........
Comment 9 E.Z. Hart 2015-06-11 19:13:39 UTC
Seeing the same thing on iOS in a Grid Layout. I have two buttons with their IsVisible properties bound to a property set to 'false'. The first time the property goes to 'true', nothing happens. If the property is subsequently set back to 'false', then to 'true', the behavior is as expected and works as expected on that page afterward.

Manually setting the IsVisible property of the buttons in the code behind instead of using data binding will occasionally cause the buttons to flash into view before disappearing.
