When browsing the component store you can only search for components, nothing else responds to mouse interaction.  Keyboard interaction is purely limited to the search box, tabbing will not allow you to focus in on any other controls.

I only have access to OS X Yosemite at the moment

This problem occurs with Xamarin Studio on Yosemite 10.10.3 but not on Mavericks nor earlier versions of Yosemite.
