Sample code from http://developer.xamarin.com/recipes/android/controls/webview/load_a_web_page/

If I build and start debugging an app with a WebView in it that targets Android 5.0 and the device has the newest version of Android System WebView and i put a break point on a line after the WebView is loaded, then the app never completely starts and just prints lines and lines of this:
[chromium] ### WebView Version 40 (1832189-arm) (code 424501)
[chromium] ### WebView Version 40 (1832189-arm) (code 424501)
[chromium] ### WebView Version 40 (1832189-arm) (code 424501)
[chromium] ### WebView Version 40 (1832189-arm) (code 424501)
[chromium] ### WebView Version 40 (1832189-arm) (code 424501)

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Unzip and open attached LoadWebPage.sln in Xamarin Studio (haven't tried in VS)
2) Change Target Framework of Project to Android 5.0 Lollipop
3) Put a breakpoint at any line with code after SetContentView(Resource.Layout.Main); (lines 17-31)
4) Build for Debug configuration and start debugging on device that has the updated Android System WebView (Version 40)

Actual Results:
App seems to startup normally and show normal application output, but then the app will freeze after about a second and there will be infinitely repeating lines of

[chromium] ### WebView Version 40 (1832189-arm) (code 424501)

in Application Output.
There is no stack trace.

Expected Results:
The app should show the WebView on the screen, then pause at the breakpoint and not print all the output described above.

Build Date & Platform:
First encountered the bug April 9, 2015

Xamarin Studio
Version 5.8.3 (build 1)

Xamarin.Android
Version: 4.20.2.1 (Business Edition)

Operating System
Mac OS X 10.9.5

Additional Information:
I don't see this problem in release build or if i don't put a break point in the code, with everything else the same as above.

@Peter: Could this be a DUPE of Bug #29365?
Comment 2 Ben Beckley 2015-06-10 14:09:47 UTC
Hello, this was an upstream bug for a while which stemmed from Android System WebView. The fix was in version 43.0.2357.76, and the current stable is 43.0.2357.112 so you should be all set now.
