Description Brendan Zagaeski (Xamarin Team, assistant) 2015-03-26 14:52:44 UTC
Xamarin.iOS Build Host Diagnosis "Comparing Remote and Local MonoTouch SDK" always shows "Outdated"

Regression status: sort of a regression (it did work once upon a time), but mostly this is just an obsolete part of the diagnostic test that has become unmaintained now that Xamarin.iOS and XamarinVS are always released in sync. (Note that the SDK sync feature itself has already been removed.)

## Steps to reproduce

1. Ensure the Mac build host is available and has a Xamarin.iOS version that's correctly matched to the XamarinVS version.

2. Open "Tools -> Options -> iOS Settings -> Find Mac Build Host".

3. Click "Continue".

4. Single-click the Mac build host to highlight it, and then click the "Diagnose..." button.

## Results

The "Comparing Remote and Local MonoTouch SDK" step fails with the message "Outdated"

## Possible improvements

The "Comparing Remote and Local MonoTouch SDK" step can be _removed_ from the "Xamarin.iOS Build Host Diagnosis" completely. As I understand it, that step is no longer relevant in the current versions.

Thanks!
