Sample repro project

=== Overview ===
The Android Designer in Visual is not rendering image resources from the Resources folder. Also, when trying to add the resource through the Properties window (e.g. setting an ImageView’s src property), the image is not listed as an option (see screencasts).

There are no errors when compiling and the app renders the resource just fine. The issue does not occur in Xamarin Studio on Windows or Mac.

Screencasts:

Issue in Visual Studio: http://www.screencast.com/t/c5H66RSHK
Xamarin Studio example: http://www.screencast.com/t/KTq4gQ9gX8

=== Steps to Reproduce ===
1. Open the attached sample project
2. Navigate to “Resources -> layout” and open “Main.axml”
3. In the designer, select the ImageView underneath the button
4. Go to “Properties -> src” and click the “…” button to select a resource

=== Actual Results ===
You cannot select a resource that is inside the Resources folder because it is not listed. If a resource has already been set, it is not rendered in the designer even if it is a valid resource.

=== Expected Results ===
The resource is rendered in the designer view and you can select the resource through the properties window.

Bug 28248 looks like it might be a duplicate of this?
Comment 4 Sadik Ali 2015-03-24 10:37:40 UTC
I have checked this issue on XVS 3.9.483 and I am able to reproduce the behavior given in the bug description.
I have observed With the Watchkit XVS 3.9.509 and Cycle 4 Service Release 4 XVS 3.9.534 builds that when I Go to “Properties -> src” and click the “…” button to select a resource,icon is listed and render successfully.
