I have checked this issue with the help of Sample project given in bug description. To reproduce this issue I have followed below steps:

1. Open sample project on XS.
2. Update Xamarin.Forms to 1.3.5.6335.
3. Set iOS project as default.
4. Run on the iPad 2 simulator.
5. Navigate to 'MasterDetailPage'.
6. Rotate simulator.

I observe that when Rotate simulator landscape view, the 'MasterDetail' not hide automatically. Same shown as screencast: http://www.screencast.com/t/rKJuCJ4Iic

Comment 2 Jason Smith [MSFT] 2015-03-05 07:06:50 UTC
Set the MasterBehavior to Popover to get the behavior you want.
Comment 3 Ian Geoghegan 2015-03-05 13:56:22 UTC
This isn't a question of setting the MasterBehavior, indeed this has been set explicitly to MasterBehavior.Default to NO effect on the iPad. Turn the iPad to landscape, and the it will display details that can not be dismissed. Thanks.

Yes that is expected
