Description nader 2015-02-23 14:13:04 UTC
There is an inconsistency in the initial object state of the DataContractJsonSerializerSettings class between the Xamarin Android version and the Windows Phone 8.1 version.

This inconsistency is in the MaxItemsInObjectGraph Property. The Windows Phone version has the initial value of 2147483647 whereas the Xamarin Android version has the initial value of 0. Considering that this property is denoting a maximum value, it seems an initial positive value would seem more logical.

To reproduce the issue, run the following code snippet and check the value of the property.

var v0 =  new System.Runtime.Serialization.Json.DataContractJsonSerializerSettings();
int v1 = v0.MaxItemsInObjectGraph; //check the value here.

I've ran this on Visual Studio 2013 with the following Xamarin version:
Xamarin.Android
Version: 4.16.0 (Business Edition)
Java SDK: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_39

The Xamarin android test was conducted on an Android 4.0.3 emulator.
The Windows phone test was conducted on a Windows Phone 8.1 emulator.

The same issue occurs with DataContractSerializarSettings.MaxItemsInObjectGraph.

I believe the fix is straightforward and can be achieved by initializing this property to int.MaxValue.

I have tried this issue and able to reproduce the reported behavior at my end.

Steps To Reproduce:
1. Create an Android Application.
2. Open the MainActivity.cs file.
3. Copy the above code snippet and paste it.
4. Set the breakpoint.
5. Run the application. Breakpoint hit.
6. Analysis the MaxItemsInObjectGraph.
