Description Prashant Cholachagudda 2015-01-19 06:55:47 UTC
Using sysctlbyname does not return values when a Unified API project deployed to the device. On a simulator we get values back from sysctlbyname method.

Sample Code:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bscheiman/Xamarin.Helpers/master/Device.cs
Call to Xamarin.Helpers.Device.GetHardwareVersion method always returns `Unknown` on the device.

Most likely you're missing a few cases in the switch (due to new devices being added since that code was written).

What's the actual value of 'hardwareStr' in the GetHardwareVersion method?

I'm sorry, you're right, the code is missing a case for new devices.

`hardwareStr` comes up as `iPhone6.2`
