If I try to add a XAML file to a shared project in Xamarin.Forms 1.3 the project fails to build with this error:
MyPage.xaml.cs(11,13): error CS0103: The name `InitializeComponent' does not exist in the current context
It doesn't seem to be doing anything with the XAML file as far as I can tell so the code-behind fails to compile. This works with PCL projects.
See the attached project.
FYI, I am building in Xamarin Studio, and this issue was discovered via this
It appears to be a bug in the Xamarin Studio iOS build system; command-line builds with xbuild work, building in Visual Studio or using MSBuild via the Build Host infrastructure works as well.
This is a known issue with using XAML in a Xamarin.Forms project in Xamarin Studio on OS X.
See the yellow box warning in [getting started with XAML]
The fix is to enable **MSBuild** for the iOS project in Xamarin Studio; explained in the [getting started with XAML] doc:
For various other reasons, we recommend using PCL projects wherever possible for Xamarin.Forms, *especially* if you plan to use XAML or other types of embedded resource.
I have tried to reproduce this issue and I am also getting the same issue. I downloaded the attached sample and build it, it shows the same error mentioned in bug description.

As per comment 3, this is a known issue, so I am marking this issue as confirmed.
