Logs from Visual Studio

---Overview---
From this priority case:
https://xamarin.desk.com/agent/case/107123

Customer reports that they are unable to deploy their app to an iOS device. When they attempt to do so, they get the following error message:

> Tool exited with code: 1. Output: Warning: --resource-rules has been
> deprecated in Mac OS X >= 10.10!
> bin/iPhone/Debug/%projectname%.app: bundle format unrecognized, invalid, or unsuitable

They report that they do not encounter the error in Xamarin Studio (Mac), and are currently using that as their primary development environment.

---Additional Information---
While they did send over the Visual Studio logs, they reported being unable to find the MonoTouchVS folder on the Mac. I've requested more information & tried to determine if they can find / send those logs somehow.

NOTE ABOUT REPORT: They encounter the issue in Xamarin 3.8, but this option is not currently selectable in the bugzilla dialog. I've filed the request to fix this issue here: https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=24866.

Comment 3 Perry 2014-12-18 15:05:27 UTC
I am experiencing this exact issue although I am working with the most recent versions of Xamarin everything except I am using VS 2012 rather than 2013.

I am also using Xamarin Studio as the work around until this issue is resolved.

Is there an update on this?

Thanks

My issue is resolved. My iOS is set to auto update and I did not restart the build host with the newer version. Visual studio error output is ambiguous but xamarin logs are clear about the issue.
