Description Alan McGovern 2011-12-07 13:09:55 UTC
Something to look at in future is that MD has different default behaviour when it comes to commenting out a block of code. If i highlight a bunch of lines and choose 'comment' from the right click context menu this is what happens:

//      {
//          MD Comment Style
//      }

Where as Visual Studio will do:

        //{
        //    VS comment Style
        //}

If people work on the same codebase using both IDEs it creates an inconsistent layout of code. It'd be nice if this matched VS and/or was configurable. But it's a feature which can wait until we stabilise 2.9.x

We had this discussion about that already - I think ours is better because it's easier to see & it's consistent.

VS.NET always does comment at indent level - we do always comment it at the 1st line. We don't need to copy all VS.NET behaviour - java IDEs for example do comment at 1st column, therefore they're "prior art".
