The method ShowKeyboard in AppDelegate.cs does take the loginView (UIView) up but doesn't take it down. If you comment "frame.Y -= 80.0f;" in the code below the reported behaviour stops happening.

 public void ShowKeyboard(NSNotification notification)
        {
            if (!loginView.Hidden && !keyboardUp) {

                // scroll the view up or down
                UIView.BeginAnimations (string.Empty, System.IntPtr.Zero);
                UIView.SetAnimationDuration (0.3);

                RectangleF frame = loginView.Frame;
                frame.Y -= 80.0f;

                loginView.Frame = frame;
                UIView.CommitAnimations();

            }
        }
