RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 23526

Description winnicki.derek 2014-10-06 17:05:53 UTC
When deploying to device in debug mode with iOS 8 on iPhone 6, installation is successful but launch fails. On FIRST launch of the app, it fails with "MT1107: Application failed to launch on device". If I then open the app myself on the device it asks if I trust the developer, and I say yes. Any subsequent launches result in no error message, but rather the app launches and crashes immediately (hardly shows the splash screen).

I've revoked and downloaded my certificates/provisioning profiles/device to ensure this isn't the issue.

I've also tested this with a brand new Xamarin.Forms PCL solution and I get the same behavior.
Comment 1 winnicki.derek 2014-10-06 17:07:17 UTC
Correction. It seems any subsequent launches actually stall at "Waiting for debugger to connect..."
Comment 2 Sadik Ali 2014-10-07 03:37:33 UTC
I have checked this issue and unable to reproduce it.

I am able to launch ios application on ios device successfully.

Please attach any device log output (you can view the device log in Xamarin Studio, open View -> Pads -> iOS Device Log), and any crash reports (which can be found in Xcode's Organizer).

Device Crash Log

Looks like there's an issue loading libMono.Dynamic.Interpreter.dll.dylib. I looked at another test solution I created to reproduce this bug on launch and I see the same crash report (minus the sqlite library which I didn't include in the test project).

Be sure to deploy in Debug. I can deploy in Release and run the app with no problems.
Comment 8 Rolf Bjarne Kvinge [MSFT] 2014-10-07 15:15:31 UTC
Can you try disabling "Incremental builds" in the project's iOS Build options?
Comment 9 winnicki.derek 2014-10-07 20:20:00 UTC
That fixed it! Is this a bug then?
Comment 10 Rolf Bjarne Kvinge [MSFT] 2014-10-13 06:31:46 UTC
Yes, it's a bug that has already been reported.

Had the same issue, debug version wouldn't deploy to device, but release would work. "Incremental Builds" wasn't the problem for me, it was "Enable Device Specific Builds" that kept the debug version from running on my iOS device.
