Description Nic Wise 2011-12-06 10:45:53 UTC
Fairly simple. There are no bindings for the UIAccessability protocol, or any of the other Accessability stuff

http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/uikit/reference/UIAccessibility_Protocol/Introduction/Introduction.html

UIAccessibility
UIAccessibilityElement

the only way to set these is via IB, which I dont (can't) use

The following UIKit accessibility functions also need to be supported:

UIAccessibilityPostNotification
UIAccessibilityIsVoiceOverRunning
UIAccessibilityIsClosedCaptioningEnabled
UIAccessibilityIsGuidedAccessEnabled
UIAccessibilityIsInvertColorsEnabled
UIAccessibilityIsMonoAudioEnabled
UIAccessibilityZoomFocusChanged
UIAccessibilityRegisterGestureConflictWithZoom

From http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/uikit/reference/UIKitFunctionReference/Reference/reference.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40006894-CH3-SW39

UIAccessibilityPostNotification is a very important feature of accessibility. I think implementing this needs to be raised to high priority. For example:

UIAccessibilityPostNotification(UIAccessibilityAnnouncementNotification, @"Hello World");

That's been implemented in 6.2.6.
