Description Fredy Wenger 2014-09-17 06:17:19 UTC
On iOS (iPhone5), ScrollView don't enable scrolling correct.
First, I tough, that the ScrollView don't work in my scenario in general.
Then (after seeking for hours) I have find out, that it seems as the height is calculated false (to much text -> enable scrolling don't work correct)

In the attachment I send you a simple page.
Run the page on a iPhone 5 (vertically) and have a look an the last Line:
- You can't see the last words and scrolling is disabled
- Then uncomment the first of the additional (fake) Text-Lines -> same behavior
- Then uncomment also the second of the additional (fake) Text-Lines
=> THEN scrolling is enabled...

I have checked this issue by creating a demo sample (attached along here with)but not able to reproduce it.I have checked it with deploying app on iPhone5s -iOS version 7.1. In my case I am able to see all data in scrollview.

Environment Info :

Xamarin.iOS 8.0.62.0

Please let me know If I have missed anything to reproduce this issue.

Where is my upload-example (my attachment)?!?
=> You don't have to delete attachments.
Take MY example for the test!!
The problem occurs only, if the to show content is a LITTLE BIT (a line or two lines) to long for the page.
=> I have described that in my posting "Then uncomment the..."
So.. take MY example and run it.

once again...

I HAVE added the attachment in my fist post - and further have added descriptions in English specially for you;-)
In the meantime, I have deleted the special comments and have implemented a workaround for my app...
However.. once again...

Instructions:
1.) comment the two Lines below:
// The ScrollView (on iPhone 5 vertical) need the next two additional (fake-)Lines to enable Scrolling
cText = cText + " " + "\r\n";
cText = cText + " " + "\r\n"; ;
2.) Run the page on an iPhone 5
3.) => The last few words are not showed and the page cannot be scrolled.
4.) outcomment the first of the two lines and run the page on a IPhone 5
   => Same behavior as under 3.).
5.) outcomment also the second line the page and run the page on a IPhone 5
   => scrolling is enabled

So...the problem occurs only, if the content is a little bit to long to show.
In your example the content is way to long to show... in this case, the problem don't occurs.

Can you try this again with 1.2.3-pre4? We fixed an issue with ScrollView on iOS that might help.
Comment 7 Fredy Wenger 2014-10-15 04:00:42 UTC
Bug still exists with the latest version.
Comment 8 Fredy Wenger 2015-05-28 07:44:39 UTC
As I am not sure, that this bug still exits in the latest XF-version (it occurs only if the content exactly matches the "bug-conditions" and not other user has posted here, I set this bug to resolved myself to help Xamarin by the clean-out of Bugzilla.
