I had an instance where my Mac build host was a different time zone than my Windows+Visual Studio machine (Time was the same besides the Time Zone). The only error I got was in trying to load the storyboard, I got "Apple iOS SDK Version 7 is required to render this document." Setting the two machines to be the same time zone fixed this. It would be nice if the build host and the VS extension communicated and warned the user that the time zones need to be in sync.
As seen here - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24995640/xamarin-ios-designer-view-gives-error-apple-ios-sdk-version-7-0-or-newer-is-req
With XMA implementation you are able to open a storyboard with different time zones in windows VS and XMA. You can verify with alpha.
