I have an app with a mainpage and some detail-pages.
First the mainpage is loaded, the user clicks on a button and a detail-page is loaded.
On the detail-page, the user can query data from our webservice (json).
If a detailpage is loaded on a Android-Tablet (Samsung SM-T900) and the device-orientation is changed, the MAINPAGE is reloaded / activated automatically instead that the detail-page is showed with changed orientation.
This is also true, if no data were queried (has nothing to do with the query of data)
With iOS (iPhone and iPad) it works correct.
With WP-Emulator, the device is showed in changed orientation but not the content.
=> But... I think this is a limitation of the WP-Emulator (as also MS-Content don't change the orientation)?
As I don't receive an answer to my post, I answer myself.
In the meantime, I have find out (Xamarin-Forum , that:
To enable WP to change orientation, you have to manually edit the MainPage.xaml-File in windows-project and change:
=> Then the orientation can be changed.
Not nice, that this is not a setting in the project-settings (where I have searched first)
To prevent the problem you have to manually edit the MainActivity.cs file in Android-project and change:
[Activity(Label = "Name", MainLauncher = true)] // Original
[Activity(Label = "Name, MainLauncher = true, ConfigurationChanges = ConfigChanges.Orientation | ConfigChanges.ScreenSize)]
Also not nice, that this is not included by default.
So.. you can close this "bug"...
