It appears that the old method of creating IPAs in Visual Studio has been removed in Xamarin 3.5. In particular the following 2 menu items no longer exist:
- "Tools -> iOS -> Publish iOS App"
- "Build -> Build Adhoc IPA"
It seems that now all you need to do to create an IPA is run "Build -> Build ProjectName" in the Ad-Hoc configuration, just like Xamarin Studio. That's quite nice.
Am I understanding this change correctly?
If so, we can close a few other open bugs:
I am also observing same behavior
Tools -> iOS -> Publish iOS App" is disable AND
"Build -> Build Adhoc IPA" also disable
When configuration is set to Ad-hoc and build the project, It creates IPA file on build host. I have seen the IPA on build host using 'Show IPA File In Build Server' from iOS Toolbar.
I have check it with following builds:
ANd update to comment# 1, There is one more Issue: https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=22244 which is reported
Yes, now the IPA is built by the new msbuild targets and you can still use the ""Show IPA..." command to show the file in the mac. Please let me know if this is enough or we're missing some part.
As per Comment#3 changing status to Verified.
