Description Leo Olivers 2014-08-15 10:30:25 UTC
create a page with the code below on Android (or use attached repro case)

Observe that the Icon property is set to icon2.pg
What we see however is that the app's default icon is displayed instead

	public class App
	{
		public static Page GetMainPage ()
		{
			return new NavigationPage(new ContentPage {
				Icon = "@drawable/icon2.png",
				Title = "<- this icon should be red!",
				Content = new Label {
					Text = "Page Icon Bug : the icon should be @drawable/icon2.png (color red)",
					VerticalOptions = LayoutOptions.CenterAndExpand,
					HorizontalOptions = LayoutOptions.CenterAndExpand,
				},
			});
		}
	}

I have checked this issue and able to reproduce this. To reproduce this issue I used attached project (repro case) provided in bug description. Steps I have followed to reproduce this:

Note: I have renamed the icon for my convenient.

1. Open given attached project in XVS
2. In Android Manifest application icon should not selected
3. Set as start up project to Android
4. After successfully deploy on emulator you will see default icon
   With title <- this icon should be red!"
5. While it should be red because icon path is set By this line of code:
       Icon = "@drawable/IconRed.png",
   and "IconRed.png" is red color icon.

Actual result: Default application icon appears.

Aspected result: The icon should be appear that is set by the Code that may be 'IconRed.png' or 'IconGreen.png'(Or any other icon).

Additional information: I observed that, user is able to set the Icon from the Android Manifest file and its working properly.

Please let me know if I am missing something.

Comment 3 Jason Smith [MSFT] 2015-02-05 05:24:24 UTC
instead of assigning to contentPage.Icon, do NavigationPage.SetTitleIcon (contentPage, "iconName.png");
Comment 4 Rajneesh Kumar 2015-02-05 09:31:52 UTC
@ Jason, Thanks a lot for clarification of this issue.

As per comment 3, I have checked this issue gain, and I observed that its working fine. Using below line of code:

Now, icon appear that is set by the Code that may'IconRed.png' or 'IconGreen.png'(Or any other icon). Please refer the screencast for the same: http://www.screencast.com/t/QVraxCXgk4E

This issue is working fine. If anyone face any problem regarding this issue, so feel free to reopen this. So as of now I am closing this issue.
