Description Roger Peters 2014-07-15 08:47:46 UTC
Once you set an action with the following signature for a custom segue action in the VC:
        [Action ("returned:")]
        void returned (MonoTouch.UIKit.UIStoryboardSegue segue)
            Console.WriteLine("HomeViewController.returned() called");

.. you can then use XCode's storyboard editor to drag from the VC icon to the Exit icon to create an exit segue that is not associated with a button on the view. You can see an image that illustrates this ability here:

It is not currently possible to do this in the Xamarin Studio storyboard editor. This is related to the limitation described in bug #21331 as well. You can also download a sample project from the link below. If you open the storyboard in XCode you'll see the ability to drag drop as shown in the image above.

This is also possible in XCode using the document outline but missing from Xamarin Studio

I have checked this issue with the help of instructions provided in bug description and observed the same behaviour. I have observed that when we open storyboard file in XCode's editor then we are able to drag from the VC icon to the Exit icon to create an exit segue but in case XS iOS designer we are not able to drag from the VC icon to the Exit icon to create an exit segue.
