In VS there is no UI to select background mode privileges. This exists in XS. In VS you have to manually edit the info.plist with an XML editor.

I have checked this issue and observed that we do not have any options(graphical option) for "Background Modes" in VS, while in XS mac we are getting option for "Background Modes". To check this issue I have followed the steps mentioned below:

1. Create a simple iOS application.
2. Open Info.plist file by double clicking.

I'm surprised to still see this open. I'm exploring using Visual Studio 2015 instead of Xam Studio and limitations like this are startling. Any reason this is still open?

Unfortunately there are still a few areas where feature parity between VS and XS is not as close as we'd like.

In large part, this is due to a vast disparity in the amount of effort required to modify XS versus our VS extensions. We're making significant changes this summer to the core implementation of XVS to lower the cost of improving the extension and hopefully will be able to chew through the remaining feature imbalance much more quickly.

This missed the C5SR4 deadline as well and is moving to C6. It may then get moved further along.
