As per title, we should auto-open this file when we create a new android project/solution so that the user notices that this is actual important information they should read.
I'll write up a new Readme. It should cover not just resource magic, but also the manfiest.xml magic, as per Rdio's feedback, that magic is also confusing if you don't know about it.
We went one step further and covered it in the new resources doc. i think it's better to add a link to it in the readme: http://docs.xamarin.com/android/tutorials/Android_Resources
Sorry, i missed that part. no, i agree with you. it's annoying. i wouldn't auto-open it.
Okay, hijacking this bug :)
* Bryan, could you provide an updated version of the README?
* Jonathan, is that a file that needs to be kept in sync with VS?
There currently does not exist a README, so I'm not sure exactly what we're talking about.
jonathan, there was a readme in the resources dir.
mhutch: i don't think we need to keep the file in synch, i think we should just add a link in that file to the doc on resources.
Sounds like a good idea. You lost me when we started talking about unrelated things like manifest merging.
Yes, it will need to updated in both the VS and MD templates.
Closing since there wasn't any real decision on this, and putting docs in a txt file in the project seems like a bad idea.
