Accodring to the MSDN documentation (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.security.cryptography.x509certificates.x500distinguishedname%28v=vs.110%29.aspx), the String version of an X500DistinguishedName should be seperated by slashes ("Delimiters are slash marks (/) and must appear before the first value and between subsequent values. ") the example presented there is "/ C=US/ O=Microsoft/ OU=WGA/ CN=TedSt" (which is also consistent with the format used by other certificate software like openssl)
But Mono (3.2.8) currently uses commas as a field delimiters, the example from above would be printed as "C=US, O=Microsoft, OU=WGA, CN=TedSt"

The program prints the decoded subject of a test certificate. On Mono-3.2.8(linux 32 bit) it prints "C=AT, L=Vienna, CN=Tester, Eemail@example.com", while "/ C=AT/ L=Vienna/ CN=Tester/ Efirstname.lastname@example.org" should be expected.
