Please create a new report on
Developer Community with
your current version information, steps to reproduce, and relevant error
messages or log files if you are hitting an issue that looks similar to
this resolved bug and you do not yet see a matching new report.
Steps to reproduce.
1. Open or create iOS application in VS on Windows 8
2. Connect to Build host.
Actual Result: Getting error "Error Build server with address 192.168.3.26 is too old to be used with this version of Xamarin.iOS extension. Double click here to select a new server". I am getting this issue only on one Windows 8 machine while on another windows 8 machine this is working fine.
Expected Result: VS should get connected to Build host
Mtbserver log: https://gist.github.com/saurabh360/f0d844dbe888b3c5535c
I am nothing getting in mac server log
Windows 8 (https://gist.github.com/Shruti360/f0cb290f67805413dc90)
Xamarin for Windows 2.0.57
Mac lion with X.iOS 220.127.116.11
Mac Mountain Lion with X.iOS 18.104.22.168
Mac Maverick with X.iOS 22.214.171.124
REGRESSION: This was working fine with stable builds.
Just to understand this statement better:
" I am getting this issue only on one Windows 8
machine while on another windows 8 machine this is working fine."
Both windows machines have the same build of Xamarin for Windows, both are trying to connect to the same build host (alternatively), and one is failing and the other is not?
Yes, Both windows machines have the same build of Xamarin for Windows and both are trying to connect to the same build host.
We'd need the VS logs then too to see what's different between those two. Use Help > Zip Xamarin Logs menu inside the running VS after you have reproduced the issue (on one) and not-repro on the other.
I am getting below VS logs for both Windows 8 machines
On which not working:
VS Log: https://gist.github.com/Shruti360/9e44e6f3051f342d78d3
Not getting MonotouchVS log
Also attaching NotWorking.zip
On which It is working:
VS Log: https://gist.github.com/saurabh360/b394fe05582453de0bbb
Not getting MonotouchVS log
Also attaching Working.zip
Both have tried with same build host.
Please let me know if anything required?

looking at the mtbserver log this looks like a duplicate of https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=18002
Bump dean: So you're working on this one and the dupe? ;)
The socket error should be fixed, but I'll see if I can replicate this one again.
No we are able to connect VS from Windows 8 to build host using latest builds not seeing any error now.
