RESOLVED FIXED

Description Eugene Gubin 2014-04-17 06:04:49 UTC
Async method not called if it has boolean parameter. It occurs when LLVM compiler used. It seems, it doesn't occur if other value type or reference type used.
Sample project which demonstrates these cases https://github.com/Eugene-Gubin/AsyncMethodWithBoolParamBug

I have tried to reproduce this issue with project "AsyncMethodWithBoolParamBug", which i downloaded from the link provided into bug description but not able to reproduce this. Please refer the screencast : http://www.screencast.com/t/1wigOYwVFXyz

Environment Info:

Mac OS X 10.9.2
Xamarin Studio : 4.2.3 (build 60)
Xamarin.iOS : 7.2.0.2 (Trial Edition)
Xamarin.Android : 4.12.1 (Trial Edition)

Please let me know if i am missing any thing.

It occurs on real device only (iPad 2 iOS 6.0.1 for me). Build settings:

One question: why you check "Enable debugging" when "Use LLVM..." option says what it is not compatible with debug mode? Debug mode and "Enable debugging" are different things?
I have tried different build settings and bug disappears when "Use LLVM..." is disabled.

Actually I had tested this issue on different build settings and simulators, by mistake attached the wrong screencast.

I have checked this issue with project "AsyncMethodWithBoolParamBug", which I downloaded from the link provided into bug description, build setting provided into comment 2 and a real device (iPad 2 iOS 6.0.1), here are my observations:

1. In Case 1: CallAsync() method is not called when we click on button first time, it is called when we click on button second time.
2. In case 2: CallAsync2() is not called at all, means it does not call on 1st,2nd and so on.. button click.
3. In case 3,4 and 5 : CallAsync3(), CallAsync4() and CallAsync5 () methods are called on first click as expected.

If we change the build setting, set "Use LLVM..." disabled then every method is called on first click as expected.

This was fixed a long time ago.
