Description Rainer Mager 2014-04-15 09:37:07 UTC
I've been using Xamarin with iOS support via both Xamarin Studio in Mac and Visual Studio in Windows for a while. I'm now ready to start porting my app to Android as well. I added a new Android project to my solution from Xamarin Studio in my Mac and checked in those changes to version control. When I tried to open the solution in Visual Studio it crashed VS.

After a lot of debugging I believe I figured out the problem. It was that I'd never activated Android support in the account I was using with VS. Obviously this shouldn't cause VS to crash.

I have tried to reproduce this issue by follow the following steps:

[Condition] iOS business license with no android license
1. Create an iOS Project in XS on mac
2. Add Android Project in it
3. Open this project on windows in VS

Now VS open a pop up window to purchase Android license.

I am not getting any crash in VS. Please let me know if I have missed some steps to reproduce this issue.

Could you please provide crash logs?

I can't repro this anymore, but I have installed updates for Xamarin since I had the problem, so maybe one of those fixed it.
