What happen when I click on Yes after the Saving Window asked me if I wanted to Overwrite the current file.

There is a similar issue on the forum which points out the Designer exception. (https://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/14272/xamarin-designer-designerexception)

Although, in my case, the problem occurs when I am trying to save a layout that I previously edited in the Source tab. Whenever I try to save, those message appears.

One for asking me if I want to overwrite the actual .axml that I just modified. Seems odd to me. Then if I click on Yes, I get the following error "Microsoft Visual Studio - Connection Closed" and the file doesn't appear to be saved.

Still, I can close it without saving and reopen it, and my changes have been applied to the file. However, I found it annoying to have to executes those steps in order to save a tiny modification.

Also see my forum post if it can help : https://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/14325/xamarin-android-on-visual-studio-saving-axml-layouts-no-longer-works

Not 100% where I should have posted that, so I did it in both places.

I have checked this issue on below environments:

Windows 7
VS 2013, 2012
Android SDK 22.6
XS 4.12.00028

I noticed that when I updated Android SDK 22.6 version getting issue as mentioned in bug description.

It looks like this is fixed by the Xamarin andrid 4.12.2

Yes, this is the issue that required the 4.12.2 Hotfix. That fix is now available in the Stable channel.

I have checked this issue with following builds:

VS 2013/2012/2010
Xamarin for VS 1.12.247

I have observed that when I edit into .axml source file, it does not trigger saving window. Even if I use Ctrl+S then .axml source code file gets saved with prompting saving window.
